It is enhanced by ITOP ‘Information Technology for Okinawa Professional’ during the ‘IT Professional Seminar’ in Okinawa which these 3 companies have worked together aiming to train more creative talents people in Okinawa, and create new markets in this industry.
Many have been putting attention into the America companies Linden Lab whom has invented 3D ‘Second-Life Virtual world’. There were several publications in the market and a number of these books were translated into Japanese.Recently Yamaha Company Ltd, Fujitsu and other big organizations are gradually entering into this industry. It is definite that there are still lots of rooms for advancements in this industry and many organizations are working toward ‘3D internet service’ It is considered that in the near future, new solution or quality will be judged if they are engaging in 3D services.
Recently, there is great reputation about the development of ‘Digital Creator’. There was a recommendation from Mr. Philip Rosedale, (CEO of Linden Lab in California State) and with the assistance from a number of research members from Digital Hollywood Co., Ltd (President, Mr. Masa Fujimoto, Principal: Mr. Sugiyama Tomoyuki, Head Office: Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo, in short: Digi-Holly) who have received training on the development program in this US head office, seminar customized for Okinawa Prefecture known as ‘Second Life Training Seminar’ is conducted. The objective is to allow the creators here in Okinawa to improve their skills. With the ‘Second Life’ support from mainland Japan, Okinawa is aiming for newer market development.
During this seminar, beside the members of the three companies who have applied with ITOP, this seminar is also opened to other companies who are interested so that they can also have a better understanding of the industry from this event.
The number of members registered for Second Life 3D network community is 10,500,000 as on 5 November 2007 globally. It is expected that when beta in Japanese language vision is being released, there will be an increase of Japanese users.
Within Second life itself, users will be free to construct their 3D Contents and sell their finished items legally. Trading of land is possible too. Within Second Life, online trading of Linden dollars to US dollars is possible and thus many have been paying attention into this business mechanism.
The purpose of ‘IT Professional Seminar’ organized by ITOP aims to improve economic independence in Okinawa, and to have further advancement in Information and telecommunication industry with more business contracts for different companies in Okinawa from the rest of Japan and if necessary, to provide financial assistance when organizing similar type of IT seminars.
