Index Okinawa has assisted to transport Giant Tortoise to ‘Kids City Okinawa’

Index Okinawa Corporation, (President: Mr. Tomoaki Kurita, Head Office location: Urasoe-shi Okinawa, in short: Index Okinawa) the company who started mobile related business, has thereafter developed operations into Data-Center and Customer Service Contact Center, and expanded from Okinawa to the rest of Japan, has assisted to arrange for the transportation of a giant tortoise from ‘Non-profit Organization for Endangered Species Protection Center’ (Located at Kawaguchi-shi, Saitama Prefecture, in short: ‘Endangered Species Protection Center’) to ‘Kids City Okinawa’ (Okinawa-shi, Okinawa Prefecture, in short, ‘Kids City Okinawa’). In conjunction to the arrival of the giant tortoise, there was a presentation ceremony held at ‘Kids City Okinawa’.

Index Okinawa has been concerning about community welfare in Okinawa and is actively organizing activities for Okinawa. For example, sponsorships for ‘Kariyushi Football Club’ so as to make football a popular sport games for Okinawa and production of ‘IT frogs’ to support studying projects for Okinawa students.

This time, while making consideration to contribute to the children in Okinawa, Index Okinawa received information that ‘Endangered Species Protection Center’ at Kawaguchi-shi, Saitama Prefecture, has an Aldabra giant tortoise which is classified as ‘Washington Treaty Type 2’. Index Okinawa decided to bridge the gap between the 2 organizations by making all the arrangements to transport the giant tortoise from ‘Endangered Species Protection Center’ to ‘Kids City Okinawa.’

The transportation of the giant tortoise was not being possible to be done by any transportation services, so our company’s representative, Mr. Kurita has visited Saitama Prefecture on 23 July 2008 (Wednesday) personally and carried the giant tortoise back to Okinawa on the same day,

After the transportation of the giant tortoise, ‘Kids City Okinawa’ has requested for a presentation ceremony after the meeting in order to allow pictures to be taken for the giant tortoise from Saitama Prefecture. This is also to ensure that Children in Okinawa will be informed about the arrival of the giant tortoise as soon as possible.
